Delivery order now, invoice later
Ask for a delivery order when goods go out before they are invoiced; later, ask to invoice that delivery order by its number.
Example prompts
Copy one into a chat with AUTOCOUNT connected and change the details to your own.
In Company A's book, make a delivery order for Customer B dated 2026-09-18: 20 units of ITEM-C and 5 units of ITEM-D. We will invoice at the end of the month.
Make a delivery order from sales order SO-0031 for Customer D, dated today.
Now invoice delivery order DO-0456 for Customer B, dated 2026-09-30.
Include in your request
- Customer, date, items and quantities (and prices, if your delivery orders show them).
- Or the sales order number to deliver in full.
- Later, for the invoice: the delivery order number and the invoice date.
What happens next
- A confirmer types the 4-digit code on the preview page; the delivery order takes the goods out of stock.
- When you invoice it, the invoice takes the delivery order's lines, and the delivery order is marked as transferred.
Tips
- When you invoice, name the delivery order number; do not ask for the delivery order again.
- In books whose invoices follow the delivery order number, invoice one delivery order per invoice.
